El Calafate

This city is home to another UNESCO World Heritage Site, Los Glaciares National Park, which includes the renowned Perito Moreno Glacier. Located in the Argentine Patagonia region, the glacier is one of the park’s main tourist attractions. It is estimated to contain the third-largest freshwater reserves in the world, with an expansive ice mass rising to a height of 18 meters.

While the southern sector of the park is characterized by its natural glaciers, the northern region offers opportunities for hiking and mountain climbing amidst the towering peaks of Mount Fitz Roy. This iconic mountain, located on the border between Argentina and Chile, is famous for its distinctive shape, drawing the attention of visitors and serving as a stunning subject for photographers.
